What to Expect
Scheduling a consultation
Once you have decided that you want to explore cosmetic or reconstructive surgery with Dr. Frank Isik, please call our office at (206) 860-4566 to schedule a consultation. When you call, you’ll be asked what procedure(s) you are interested in and some general information including name, phone number and address. You may also be asked about your insurance carrier and policy number, if applicable. A consultation fee may apply and appointments are scheduled for 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the complexity of the procedure you are interested in.
Day of Consultation
Please plan on arriving 15 minutes before your appointment time. When you arrive at our office, you will be checked in by one of our receptionists. They will provide you with a medical history form to complete and a HIPPA privacy act to sign. They will also copy your insurance card and/or collect your consultation fee, if applicable.
During your consultation, Dr. Isik will spend time with you discussing your goals and concerns. Then you will have a physical exam. After the exam, Dr. Isik will review in detail the treatment options that are available and make a personal recommendation based on your specific case.
After the consultation, you will have an opportunity to sit down with Michelle, our patient care coordinator. Michelle will review all costs associated with your procedure(s), if applicable. If you decide to proceed, she will arrange the surgery date and schedule your pre-operative visit. A deposit is required to hold the surgical date for all cosmetic procedures.
Pre-Operative Visit
Two weeks before your surgery, you will come in for your pre-operative visit. You will meet with Karen, our nurse, who will discuss with you how to prepare for surgery and what to expect afterwards. You will sign the surgical consent form and we’ll take routine pre-operative photographs. You will also meet again with Dr. Isik, who will answer any remaining questions you may have. At the end of your pre-operative visit, Michelle will collect the remainder of your surgery fee, if applicable, and set up your first post-operative clinic visit.
Day of Surgery
We will ask you to arrive approximately 30 minutes prior to your scheduled surgery time. Karen will check you in. Prior to entering the operating room, you will meet with Dr. Isik and the anesthetist. Dr. Isik will mark the surgical site and confirm it with you before you are brought into the operating room. When the operation is complete and you are recovered enough to go home, Karen will discharge you to a family member or friend who will be staying with you that day. Dr. Isik will call you that evening to speak with you and check on how you are recovering.
After Surgery
You will be confirmed for a follow-up appointment before you are sent home on the day of surgery. The follow-up appointment(s) will vary depending on the type of surgery you have had and may be the next day or in one week.
